An 18-year-old has been arrested after an uzi sub machine gun was found hidden in his bedroom.

The deadly weapon - associated with gang violence - was found wrapped in a bin liner alongside rounds of ammunition yesterday morning (9).

It was uncovered by the teenager's parents at their home in Harlesden, and they immediately contacted police who charged the youth with possessing an imitation firearm and ammunition.

Another collection of deadly weapons was seized from the home of a 19-year-old man on the same day.

It was found after police executed a search warrant at an address in Park Road, Harlesden, and included a stun gun, six imitation firearms and 20 combat knives.

The teenager was arrested and bailed pending further enquiries and Brent CID are investigating both disturbing finds.
