Charity seeks technology tutors
An organisation aiming to improve computer literacy in the over 45s is on the look out for people to become digital mentors.
Digitall is recruiting 18 to 25-year-olds willing to pass on their electronic knowledge and close both digital and generational divides.
Those interested will be matched with a learner and spend around one hour per week explaining computer basics, at the Akshar IT Centre in Meadow Garth, Neasden.
Run by national volunteering charity TimeBank and funded by national youth charity V, Digitall aims to provide free training, support and valuable skills for all involved.
Geegna Patel, Digitall Project Manager, said: "There's so much that the generations can learn from each other, but too often the young and the old in our communities just don't mix.
"We hope the sharing of expertise and knowledge will break down barriers and stereotypes to benefit all and that both mentor and mentee will gain confidence and skills."
A one day training session will be held on August 15, and for more information visit www.digitall.org.uk or contact Geegna on 020 7785 6371.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos
