Brent boxer fighting fit at Olympics

James DeGaleHarlesden's James DeGale is brimming with confidence ahead of his fight with Shawn Estrada after a dazzling victory over Egypt's Mohamed Hikal on Saturday (09).

The 22-year-old put in a fantastic display to beat the two-time Olympian 13-4 while helping unite Team GB's boxing contingent rocked by the last minute withdrawal of Frankie Gavin, the fancied lightweight who failed to make the 60kg limit.

DeGale, who dedicated his triumph to Birmingham slugger Gavin, now takes on USA's Estrada on Saturday (16) with a tantalising match up against Russian destroyer Matvey Koborov in the offing.
